Color Analysis
Let’s dive into the power of color. Have you noticed that some colors just look better on you than other colors? The method color analysis can help you determine which colors best compliment your natural features, such as skin tone, eye color, and hair color. While we cannot offer professional color analysis services, here are some general tips to find your best shades!
Undertone & Overtone
Undertone is the color of your face that sits under the skin. Knowing your undertone is important to color analysis because the colors you wear should match your tones. Everybody’s undertone ranges between blue (cool), yellow (warm), with some people being natural, or in the middle.
What is your undertone?
Now, how do you determine your undertone? Generally, there are several ways to determine your undertone without scientific testing.
Eyes: the quality and color of your eyes can reveal whether you have cooler, warmer, or neutral tones. Bright, icy blue eyes can indicate a cooler undertone, but more turquoise, brown-flecked eyes are warmer. Dark brown eyes can be cooling, while caramel brown eyes are warming.
Color of your veins: this method is really looking under your skin. Blue and purple veins indicate cool tones and green veins indicate warmer tones. A mix of both indicate a neutral undertone.
Gold or Silver jewelry: the color of jewelry you wear can totally compliment the tone of your skin. If you seem to look brighter with gold jewelry, your undertone leans more toward warm colors, and if silver brings out your features, then your tone is cooler.
Now that you have a basic understanding of color analysis, hopefully this can help you decide more of which colors to wear. But, as always, the most attractive color on you is your personality!
