Undergraduate Philosophy Association - Hume’s Theory of Induction Party

This week we will celebrate the induction of these gallant thinkers into our ranks at our biannual Hume’s Theory of Induction Party on Friday 6th December in CDSB62 at 5pm. We’ll also be playing some fun games such as AITA while munching on some Mochinut (posh donuts in the common parlance)! We hope you’ll come dressed to the nines: as good as if you were attending a wedding or funeral! This is the event of the semester: trust us it’ll be to die for!

Furthermore, just another reminder that this is your last chance to pick the topic in philosophy you’d like to hear a lecture on next semester for our Annual Spring Philosophy Lecture! Please fill out the form to let us know what you’re interested in!

Undergraduate Philosophy Association - Play and Education in Plato: Introductory Considerations by Professor Pageau-St-Hilaire

The UPA will be hosting a special lecture titled Play and Education in Plato: Introductory Considerations by visiting Professor Antoine Pageau-St-Hilaire who is known for his research into post-Kantian European philosophy (especially phenomenology and hermeneutics) as well as Ancient Greek Philosophy particularly Plato and Aristotle. Please join us on Friday 15th November in CDSB62 at 5pm for an enlightening talk and a new play on Plato.

uWISE Faculty Networking Night

This is our largest event of the semester! This is a fantastic opportunity for women and non-binary individuals to network and get to know faculty in BU’s STEM departments. Ask about what they do for research, what drives them to continue being leading professors in their fields and why they choose to pursue their interest in STEM. It’s also a good way to introduce yourself to them and potentially discover a research group you’d like to be part of! A diverse array of majors and careers will be represented. The event will be catered by Otto's Pizza.

The volunteering starts at 12pm-3pm on Sat November 9th. We will meet an hour (11am) before at Marsh Plaza and get back to campus about 3:30-4pm. PLEASE be considerate when you sign up to volunteer, especially when selecting the first choice. We want to give our members the opprotunity to give back to our Boston community and help others. Making a commitment to show up to volunteer and not showing up the day of, is not helpful.
